David Larwill

David Larwill is one of the most important and distinctive mid-career artists in Australia.  As the founder of the ROAR Studios in the early 1980s, Larwill and his fellow contemporaries sort to reinvent painting and produce expressive style works, that challenged the contemporary thought of the time.

Larwill's paintings and printworks are direct and passionate applications of line and colour. His works also reference the primitivism as well as other influences from modernism and post-modern art practice.

David Larwill is an artist who has attracted major critical acclaim to date. Major collections, both public and private, coupled with a top price in excess of $50,000 at auction has marked him for serious attention by collectors and investors in Australia.

Hot Head is a dramatic work that is indicative of his signature style. It contains all the vibrancy and immediacy that Larwill is famous for.
